From time to time the Permanent Board appoints Friends with relevant gifts, skills, and experience to small groups to address a particular task. "Working groups" focus on time-limited processes and recommendations, often related to administration or governance; “resource groups” support local meetings in discernment or engagement with concerns being carried by New England Friends as a whole.
These groups are accountable to the Yearly Meeting, through the Board, for their work on behalf of New England Friends, reporting regularly and as needed.
