Dear Friends,
The next Permanent Board meeting will be on May 9, 2026 and will be hosted by Wellesley Friends Meeting in Wellesley, MA. Permanent Board meetings are hybrid and open for Friends to attend as visitors, either in person or by Zoom. We welcome your interest and participation. General information and background documents pertaining to Permanent Board, and a link to register to attend: https://neym.org/committees/permanent-board
Throughout the year, when NEYM is not in August Sessions, the Permanent Board and members of the Coordinating and Advisory Committee stay in touch with the Yearly Meetings many Committees, Resource Groups and working groups. This focused attention from Permanent Board is, in part, in fulfillment of the purpose and priorities of NEYM as described here: https://neym.org/who/governance/purpose-and-priorities-yearly-meeting , and summarized under the following headings:
- Spiritual Development and Religious Education
- Outreach, Welcome, Inclusion, and Witness
- Relationship and Communication
- Leadership and Administration
- Stewardship, Integrity, and Accountability
These NEYM purposes and priorities are advanced through the dedicated service of NEYM staff, volunteer leadership, and Friends from monthly meetings across New England, serving on (depending how you count them!) fourteen standing committees, eight resource groups, and numerous working groups, as well as the outreach of NEYM representatives to at least eight Quaker and religious partner organizations, as graphically depicted here: https://neym.org/who/governance/how-we-do-things .
If this good and faithful work piques your interest and you would like to get more involved in connecting with other Friends across NEYM please let your interest be known! Have a conversation with a Permanent Board member or someone from the Nominating Committee. They would love to hear how your gifts and your leadings might be matched with activities of NEYM that inspire you.
