Junior Yearly Meeting (JYM) is a loving and grounded community for children in grades one through six. JYM aims to build a nurturing, safe, fun and appropriate spiritual community which children know as their own. In all we are and do, we seek to be faithful to the Light within, using our Faith and Practice as a guide for appropriate behavior and response to occasional conflict.
We select adult staffers with great care. An ability to nurture, laugh and attend to the precious spirit of children are crucial priorities when selecting staff. We typically have 12 to 14 staffers and junior staffers at any given retreat and maintain a 3-to-1 ratio of children to staff. Please see our section on staffing for more information on our guidelines, policies and practices.
As we adapt to the ramifications for striving to keep our community safe and healthy in the midst of Covid-19, we're experimenting with new programs and formats. To receive information on upcoming programs and resources for children and families, please subscribe to the JYM-JHYM Newsletter.
