At Sessions 2025, a minute was approved asking the Presiding Clerk and the Permanent Board to schedule a meeting of New England Friends as soon as possible for the purpose of sharing and encouraging work that is already being done in the Yearly Meeting, and worshipfully discerning a corporate response to the crisis in Gaza. This meeting is now scheduled for 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18. This will be an all-Zoom meeting. Registration for the meeting can be found here.
We are very aware that there are many conflicts with this date and time. All weekends in October were considered and significant conflicts were found for all of them. The request by Sessions for a timely meeting led us to conclude that delaying the called meeting for later in the year would be less in keeping with the minute’s intent. Those who cannot attend but who would like to share their insights are encouraged to send their thoughts in an email to [email protected]. These letters will be available for registrants to read in advance of the meeting.
