Financial assistance available

Offering Sessions and its Youth Programs is an important commitment that the Yearly Meeting has made. We know that even with the fee waivers that accompany our full-time volunteer roles, barriers remain for those who lose needed income during their service or have significant direct costs which their personal resources do not easily absorb.

If you are serving in an essential role at Sessions (such as Youth Program staff), and the loss of income during your service and/or travel expenses to get to Sessions are a barrier to your service, the Yearly Meeting can provide you with financial support, up to $300 per person. To receive this assistance, please complete this short form. Your response will be held in confidence. Requested funds will be distributed at the end of Sessions or mailed to you immediately following Sessions.

If you need these funds, after confirming with the coordinator you will be serving with, please submit the form ASAP to allow us to monitor the need. Although the amount of these funds is modest, we hope that this experiment helps to support the service of Friends this year and teaches us about what investments may be needed in years to come.

If this experiment is not sufficient to eliminate barriers to participation for you, there is a place on the form to let us know what that would look like.  Knowing that would help inform the future of this sort of program and we would be grateful for you to share it with us.

Concessions and Sessions Bookstore Coordinators Filled!

We have three eager and capable Friends  running the bookstore at Sessions. This is an opportunity to build upon the excellent work of our existing team and retiring bookstore managers, to build the bookstore up for its next stage in life.  There is still a need for Friends willing to staff the bookstore. You can let us know through the inquiry form or tick the box to volunteer on your registration.

Registrar   Filled!

The Sessions Registrar supports Friends with their registration on Sessions, helping them with changes, cancellations, and other questions. The Registrar also registers new Friends at Sessions and needs to be comfortable using online databases. This role works closely with the Office Manager, Events Coordinator, and Housing Coordinator. This is a significant role for someone who is detail-oriented and begins about May and continues through Sessions. There are significant on-campus hours for the first few days of Sessions, followed by on-call hours. Please contact the Events Coordinator for more information. There is still a need for Friends willing to staff the check-in desks. You can let us know through the inquiry form or tick the box to volunteer on your registration.
