Canadian Yearly Meeting will be holding an event on Communication Tools for Monthly Meetings, and how to create a responsible culture of communication.
In this session, sharing will focus on effective communication methods for newcomers, regular attenders and members. Monthly Meetings are communicating in a variety of ways: newsletters, email, and alternatives to email (WhatsApp, Signal & Discord), so inboxes are not overwhelmed by constant messages. The queries below will guide our sharing.
We received so many great resources from Meetings on how you welcome newcomers, and we would also love to hear from you about which communication channels your Meeting uses. What has worked or has not worked? Do you have certain roles for managing these spaces? How do you introduce these spaces to newcomers? I look forward to hearing from you.
