What relevance does the Lamb’s War have on Quakers living and resisting empire today? By reframing the Lamb’s War as an Endless Revolution, we will consider the ways in which our liturgies, that is the work we do together as Friends, shapes our communities. We face ongoing attempts of empire to undermine and reframe what it means to be human. What practices might sustain our spirits and guide our work? In this talk, we will look both liturgies of empire and liturgies of resistance as we consider how to sustain our communities of love and justice in the ongoing work to bring about the beloved community.
This lecture will celebrate the August publication of Pendle Hill Pamphlet #500, C. Wess Daniels’ God Bless the Grass: Liturgies of Empire, Liturgies of Resistance.
