Come and hear about the history of the former Winthrop Center Friends Church which still stands on Route 135 in Winthrop over Baileyville. Maggie Edmundson will be the second speaker for the Winthrop Maine Historical Society Speaker Series on Thursday, May 14, 2026, 6 PM, at the Winthrop History and Heritage Center on 107 Main Street in Winthrop, Maine. A Zoom link can be requested by emailing the Society at [email protected]. Maggie will talk about the church building and the Quaker meeting it housed for 140 years.
Maggie is a retired pastor of Winthrop Center Friends, having served the congregation for 27 years. She continues to be active with the Friends Meeting which now meets at the Congregational Church. She is also a musician, performing and teaching for many years. She lives in Readfield with her husband, Ron.
