Join us for the theme: “Responding to Chaos: Discovering my Quaker Advocacy”

Meet Quaker representatives of two effective lobbying organizations: Rob Levin, our new Quaker Representative to the Maine Council of Churches; and Keith Williamson, member of the General Committee of Friends Committee on National Legislation.

Tentative Schedule:

8:30–9:00  Coffee/tea and morning goodies

9:00–11:00: Business Meeting: Jay O’Hara, clerk, and Diane Oltarzewski, recording clerk

11:00–11:15 Brief break

11:15–12:00: Worship

12:00–1:00 Lunch: Eggemoggin and Narramissic will provide morning coffee/tea and soups/stews. Please help us by bringing fruit, bread, or desserts.

1:00–2:00: Attorney Rob Levin (Portland Friends Meeting), Quaker Representative to Maine Council of Churches. Rob is invited to introduce himself, his family, his work, and his activism, as well as the courageous work of the Maine Council of Churches. There will be 15 minutes for Q&A. Rob’s address is the only Zoom presentation of the day. Zoom registration for those at home is required. Reply to Carole Beal by noon May 1.

2:10–3:30: Keith Williamson (Narramissic Friends Meeting) member of the General Committee of Friends Committee on National Legislation. Keith will reflect on his experience as a participant in FCNL's Spring Lobby Weekend. In small groups, all are invited to work together on step one of FCNL’s Advocacy Tool Kit: “Creating my story: How a policy issue impacts my life and my community."

3:30: Gather for brief sharing.

4:00: Join together for a few moments of silent gratitude for this day followed by clean up.
