Join New York Yearly Meeting (NYYM) representatives to Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) for a workshop on writing and publishing op-eds and letters to the editor on issues of concern to Friends.
Letters to the editor that call upon elected officials are tracked and noted by those officials (and their staffers) and create significant impact. If you haven’t been able to join with FCNL Friends on Capitol Hill to meet your representatives in Congress to advocate for change, you can still make your voice heard by writing op-eds that get published in local, regional, and statewide news outlets.
During our session we will present some tools for writing letters, look at strategies that have worked for others, and workshop ideas that you might have. Click here to see examples of letters that have been published already.
