The Legacy Gift Committee of New England Yearly Meeting is pleased to announce the award of $10,000 from the NEYM Witness & Ministry Fund to Virginia Swain of Friends Meeting Cambridge for the purpose of supporting Virginia's direct ministry, providing the training and disseminating the skills of the Quaker Reconciliation Leadership Program to build trust and revitalize monthly meetings.
The Reconciliation Leadership Program practiced at the United Nations for 30 years has been transformed for Quakers in a post-pilot updated curriculum. Now offered to Quakers in New England and beyond, it is designed to stabilize and empower meetings to develop leaders who are led and cleared to learn reconciliation methodology to heal historic and current challenges. Reconciliation Leaders are potential elders in monthly and yearly meetings, willing to offer wisdom, emotional balance, and inner peace in troubled times.
The next regular Legacy Gift funding application deadline (for grants up to $10,000) is Sunday Oct 19, 2025. In addition, Time Sensitive funding (of up to $1,000) may also be applied for on a rolling basis. Individual Friends, meetings and other New England Quaker organizations are welcome to apply for funding to support ministry, witness or facilities projects (especially related to carbon footprint reduction).
