Growing Edges of Youth Ministries Fund
In our changing world, the way we approach youth ministry is continually adapting. New England Quakers seek to nurture the growing edges of youth ministry, the places where new leadings, experiments, and learning happens.
Thanks to a generous donation, New England Quakers are able to offer funds to support experiments happening at the growing edges of youth ministry, which we believe includes ministry to and with parents and families as well as emerging adults (ages 18 to 25).
Have you felt a nudge from Spirit to minister to Quaker youth or families in a new way? Is there an experiment you or your community yearns to try for which you seek accompaniment as well as practical support? If so, we urge you to consider submitting a proposal form for our Growing Edges of Youth Ministry Fund.
As capacity allows, we hope to support projects that serve New England Quaker (and Quaker-curious) youth which have an initial experiment period of 2 to 12 months.
We look for projects that aim to:
- Deepen youths' and or families' understanding of the Quaker faith
- Increase a sense of belonging and Quaker identity
- Foster healthy, multigenerational community
- Name and nurture individuals' gifts and support youth leadership
- Provide opportunities for youth to live their faith through discernment, service, action, and reflection
At this time, we are especially interested in projects that equip families and households to use Quaker practices in their daily lives; welcome, nurture, and connect young seekers and parents who are seekers with Quaker faith and local Quaker communities; and/or encourage the development of ongoing youth ministries rooted in local worshipping communities of Friends.
In addition to financial support, we seek to connect with you in a spirit of mutual accompaniment and shared learning, walking along the growing edges of youth ministry together, sharing insights along the way.
