The theme for World Quaker Day on 4 October 2026 is Let Peace Be Among Us, with the supporting Bible passage Hebrews 12:14, “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy.”
FWCC is planning a massive online Meeting for Worship on World Quaker Day (4 October), bringing together Friends across borders, time zones, and Quaker traditions with a shared focus on peace.
Please save the date in your calendar and start talking with your local meeting or Friends Church about joining online as a group. Stay tuned for more updates on the World Quaker Day event page here or in our monthly e-newsletter, Friends World News (you can subscribe below).
To help promote the online gathering, we have created this poster which you may wish to download and display in your local meeting or Friends Church.
Here are some other ways you might take part in World Quaker Day:
- Share a message of peace in a sermon, all-age worship or children’s session exploring what the Bible says about peace.
- Organise a meeting for learning about the Quaker testimony to peace.
- Plan a ‘Pause for Peace’ or silent vigil in a public space.
- Sing any of the tunes from our World Quaker Songbook related to the theme of Peace: Down by the Riverside, Peace Is Flowing Like A River, Friends Forever, En Jesucristo El Rey de Paz (Blessed Assurance), In Christ there is no East or West. How Can I Keep From Singing, Hill of Vision. Click on the links to hear them sung by musician Amy Duckett Wagner.
