- August 19 – Doorperson Refresher: “Are you ready?”
The doorperson is not an “assistant teacher,” but rather holds care “for the whole room” in a role more like elder. This workshop will prepare Friends to support their children’s program in the doorperson role, from greeting to response time. - September 24 – Nurturing the Nurturers
How can stories and parts of the Godly Play method offer support for families at home? How can a children’s program grounded in story serve as outreach? Where else can stories be part of the invitation, welcome, and inclusion of all ages in a family? We’ll explore these queries and spiritual practices for home. - October 25 – People Making 101
What materials-making methods support how stories represent the diversity of Friends in our worldwide family? Resources and ideas for making “Quaker folk” for stories. - November 16 – Learning by Heart: Methods for Learning Stories
Hear from experienced storytellers about the variety of practices they use to learn stories and share them “from the heart.” We’ll explore tips and tricks as well as the reason why sharing stories learned by heart (if not memorized) is important to the individual and community experience of hearing and wondering about stories.
