This year’s theme for Stoking the Fire is from Leviticus 6:12: Nurturing the Sacred Flame. We are inviting folks who seek a deeper connection with God and Friends' experience. Through shared worship, witness, and learning, Stoking the Fire invites us to open ourselves to the voice of God, be led by the Holy Spirit, and instructed by Christ’s presence.
Coinciding with Pentecost Sunday, this year’s Stoking the Fire retreat will be held June 6–8 at the FUM offices in Richmond, Indiana, in conjunction with the Quaker Hill Conference Center. To take advantage of the value and importance of direct connection and shared physical space, this will be an in-person only experience.
Over the course of the weekend, participants will hear about locating and accessing our power, using that awareness in relationship to seek personal transformation, approaching the world as creators of solutions, and becoming people who know their worth, able to be fully present in the face of God. Presentations will be intermingled with intentional opportunities for personal spiritual reflection.
