A half day of free nonviolence training on Saturday, September 21, 9-12:30 will help will help ground you in nonviolent practice so that we are better prepared to respond to possible hostile confrontations around the time of the election. David Blair and Jim Kates will lead the experiential training which will take place at the Quaker Meetinghouse, 3 Davidson Road, Jaffrey. 

David Blair has lived in NH since 1973 and worked in the public schools as a nature educator and English as a Second Language teacher; and at Mariposa Museum, which he co-founded in 2001. David has done conflict transformation training in Asia, Africa and eastern Europe with the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding. He remains connected to peace and justice work through AFSC-NH, NH Peace Action and Project Home, which supports asylum seekers in the Monadnock Region.

James Kates worked in the American Civil rights movement in the 60’s and later became a public school teacher, a nonviolence trainer for interpersonal and political movements, a poet and a literary translator. Since 1997, he has co-directed the non-profit literary publishing house Zephyr Press.
