Friends Camp annual work weekend is just around the corner, and more hands are needed to help get work done! So far an intrepid group of 10 volunteers has signed up; we hope for 40-50 total volunteers. Work weekend is happening Friday, May 17 - Sunday, May 19, at Friends Camp in South China, ME. Tasks for the weekend will include:
- raking
- clearing pathways of sticks & branches
- setting up the new Health Hut furniture
- cleaning
- painting—inside and outside
- minor construction projects
- preparing the flower beds
- preparing the vegetable garden
Come prepared for physical labor, although work can be adapted to different abilities. Please use this link to register, and to find some more details. Families are welcome to attend and work, but Camp does not offer a children's program or childcare during this weekend.
Camp will provide basic meals Friday dinner thru Sunday breakfast, and you are welcome to attend for any portion of the weekend or the entire time. Many folks choose to just do a work day on Saturday. You should pack warm clothes and bedding, gardening tools or rakes if you have them, work gloves, and a flashlight. Please leave alcohol at home. There will be a campfire after the workday on Saturday.
