This month, there's a new series launching through Earlham School of Religion Quaker Leadership Center on training for trustees. The series is free and on Zoom, for any Friends who serve as trustees for their meetings, for their yearly meetings, or for Quaker institutions. It's open to others who are interested as well, but geared for trustees specifically.
Workshop facilitator Emily Provance writes: "This came about because of the number of interactions I've had in which Friends serving as trustees have confided, 'I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing, and I don't have anyone to ask. Sometimes I feel like I'm just making this up.' My own hope is that we can provide some expert information but also let people meet and support one another. That networking aspect might be the most important part. It's also my priority to make sure that we do not separate the secular aspects from the spiritual aspects of serving as a Quaker trustee but explore the ways in which the two are linked."
