Visits, Traveling Ministry, and Pastoral Care
The tradition of visiting among Friends meetings is a unique piece of our spiritual identity and vitality — we are stronger and more vibrant when we know one another in that which is eternal.
If there is an issue or an aspect of meeting life, Quaker faith & practice, or work and witness that your meeting is exploring, inviting Friends with particular gifts and experience might be a helpful part of the journey. Friends from throughout New England are available to offer workshops, facilitate retreats, speak on a wide variety of topics and themes, and help deepen a meeting's connection to the Yearly Meeting community.
When challenges like illness, loss of employment, family conflict, abuse or mental health issues arise, meetings may feel unprepared. Ministry & Counsel is available to support local and quarterly meetings in providing pastoral care. This support could include sharing readings, providing referrals, holding the local meeting and leadership in prayer, providing a listening ear and connecting local Friends with others who have weathered similar storms.
