Gathering Quakers Together in New England
Some 3,800 Quakers and another 1,100 meeting attenders call New England home. The Yearly Meeting facilitates opportunities to come together, explore and live into the Quaker Way, including:
NEYM Annual Sessions
Each August, more than 600 Friends come together for worship, fellowship and seeking how God will guide us in meeting for business. Having met for more than 350 consecutive years, NEYM is the oldest yearly meeting in the Quaker world.
While this gathering is large — the second-largest Quaker gathering in North America — there are many opportunities to connect with Friends old and new: vibrant youth programs, adult small groups, variety shows, topical interest sessions and shared meals. In recent years, Sessions has featured plenary addresses, Bible Half-Hours and evening performances led by invited guests from across the Quaker world.
Living Faith Gatherings
Living Faith Gatherings are a new initiative of New England Yearly Meeting of Friends (NEYM) bringing together Quakers from across our region to nourish our faith, grow our communities, and strengthen our witness.
Youth Retreat Programs: From Ages 7 to 35
In addition to the youth programs at Annual Sessions, New England Yearly Meeting has been blessed with spiritually robust, well-attended and fun year-round youth retreat programs, covering a wide span of ages. These programs have been patterns and examples to other Quaker communities across North America.
Yearly Meeting Committees
NEYM has nearly 30 committees and boards engaged in spirit-led work on issues from racial justice to Quaker investments to archiving our Friends history. Committee members work alongside Friends from across New England with common concerns and interests, building programs, witnesses and resources to minister to New England Quakers and the broader community.
Promoting New England Quaker Organizations
New England Yearly Meeting celebrates the work of the Spirit amongst Quaker organizations and projects in our region, including:
