The Meeting approved a letter of prayerful support to the non-violent resistance movement started by the Montgomery Improvement Association in Alabama, and also letters to the Roman Catholic Archbish­ops in New England and in Louisiana expressing sympathetic accord with the forthright stand of their church against racial discrimination…

The recommendation from the Committee on Peace and Social Concerns that reference to capi­tal punishment be included in the index at the next printing of Faith and Practice was approved. After sympathetic discussion the Meeting approved referring the suggested revision of the statement on capital punishment in Faith and Practice back to the Committee on Peace and Social Concerns for further con­sideration.
