Christmas Eve Gatherings Around the Yearly Meeting
(If you'd like to have your meeting listed, please send details to the Yearly Meeting office).
Beacon Hill Friends Meeting (Boston, MA): Join us for unprogrammed worship on Christmas Eve at 5:30 p.m. We will have fireside tea and nibbles to follow.
Framingham Friends Meeting (Framingham, MA): Caroling at 7 p.m.
Monadnock Quaker Meeting (Jaffrey, NH): Candlelight service on Christmas Eve will begin at 6:00 p.m. with fellowship and caroling, followed by worship about 7:00 p.m. Children may retire to the library for Christmas stories during worship. You are welcome to bring a flashlight and/or finger food to share.
Portland Friends Meeting (Portland, ME): Worship from 5 to 6 p.m. with songs and readings, closing with the lighting of candles.
Saylesville Worship Group (Lincoln, RI): Candlelight worship from 4:30 to 5:30. Bring a candle in a sturdy/stable holder. Refreshments are offered at the rise of meeting. Please join us—all are welcome.
Storrs Friends Meeting (Storrs, CT): Worship from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
West Epping (NH) Preparative Meeting: Amidst the season’s clamor, we gather in peaceful silence for reflection and meditation, followed by refreshments after rise of meeting. On Christmas Eve, please bring a gift of food to share with our neighbors through the Raymond Community Action Food Pantry. More families are asking for help; food pantries have less to give. Special needs: dry cereal, tuna fish, baby food, meat stew, baked beans and peanut butter. May we take into our lives the Christmas message of “Peace on Earth and Good Will towards All.” (To our friends who will be joining us on Christmas Eve, just a reminder that the meetinghouse is a historic, pristine building, with no plumbing or bathrooms of any kind.)
Yarmouth Preparative Meeting (So. Yarmouth, MA): Carols, story, and refreshments at 6:00 p.m.
