Quaker Dinner Church
At Quaker Dinner church we share a meal of local foods, singing, queries, conversation, and expectant waiting worship, in the manner of Friends (a practice of collective contemplative listening for the Still Small Voice). We work together to set the space with the goal of encouraging people to walk with one another and bring their questions and desires for conversation. The event is a welcoming Christian space: you don’t need to be a Quaker or a Christian to be there and everyone is welcome! During the meal we converse, at our tables, over a set of queries (focused question on which we can reflect), and then extend that conversation to the room as we share in a large group.
This space is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible restroom. There will be kid-friendly eats and kid-activities, too! There is room at the table for all.
We have access to the kitchen and so will be able to make soup and slice bread together. If you want to be part of coming together to build this event please sign up HERE! (Note that soup preparers will be asked to come at 4:30 p.m.)
As this marks the beginning of regular monthly events for this gathering, worshiping community, we will come together to consider the theme of Hospitality. We’ll share readings and song, poetry and conversations.
If you have any questions please email Kristina Keefe-Perry.
