Quaker Growers Gathering
Friends are invited to gather to share how our faith informs the work the work that we do as farmers and how we do (or hope to) directly engage New England Yearly Meeting and the Religious Society of Friends. Proposed Schedule:
- 9:00 Gather, brief introductions, tour of Sun Moon Farm
- 10:30 Worship Sharing with Queries adapted from NEYM Faith & Practice
- 11:30 Questions and suggestions for each other
- 12:15 Lunch (potluck), unprogrammed discussion
- 1:00 Consider next steps
- 1:30 Close meeting.
Sun Moon Farm is primarily a vegetable CSA. They feed about 120 families from June through October, regularly support our local food pantry, and grow greens all through the New Hampshire winter in our high-tunnel greenhouses. They're happy to offer a short tour of what they do at the farm but hope that most of the time together might be sharing stories of what Quaker farming looks like in other parts of New England, too. The gathering is not only for full-time farmers but all Friends for whom growing food is an important part of their spiritual identity and vocation. Please R.S.V.P. to Craig Jensen.
