When you go to a potluck, you usually only bring one thing that you like, and that one thing wouldn’t work for everyone there. But somehow, magically, everyone bringing their one thing results in each person eating a meal they find delicious. Young Friends know that when we all show up fully with our unique gifts, questions, and things we’re hungry for, everybody in the community benefits and is spiritually nourished in the way they need! This retreat will be a chance to celebrate what each individual person brings to the group and explore what that means for how we each can show up in the world. We’ll name gifts, play games, and deepen relationships that strengthen our community.
This retreat will be our first HYBRID Young Friends retreat. This means there will be opportunities for connecting both on Zoom and safely in person at different points during the weekend. There will be Zoom sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for "everybody time" meaning all Young Friends from all over. Then on Saturday afternoon from approximately 1 p.m to 5 p.m. Young Friends can meet up in person in small, local groups of youth and staff. These local meetups will take place at Portland Friends Meeting, and Framingham Friends Meeting. All youth and staff attending the in-person meetups will be required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and remain outdoors.
This event is pay-as-led. Register here by Wednesday, June 2nd.
