It's the middle of winter, when our bodies and spirits can feel frozen and in the dark-- that's why at this retreat we'll be practicing how to care for ourselves and each other. We'll move around in ways that feel good, laugh, and learn ways to practice effective self-care and community-care. We'll talk about how we can support each other in ways that respect our own boundaries, and find out when and where to seek help when we need it. This retreat is a whole day longer than the others, so we'll have that much more time to create joy, warmth, and light together. Plus this retreat will end, as usual, with a themed dinner party and coffeehouse and maybe even a dance!
Register here by February 7th.
About Young Friends Midwinter:
The Midwinter retreat is a special and much-anticipated time for Young Friends to gather for an extended amount of time and in a magical place. Midwinter is one day longer than other retreats, and we gather at a retreat center that has beds and showers (rather than a meetinghouse), typically at Woolman Hill, NEYM's retreat center. In the middle of winter, the extra time and opportunity to connect with one another is a welcome change from the busy-ness of the school year. Woolman Hill is situated in the woods of Western Mass, with an old farmhouse and cabins and plenty of space to explore the snowy woods or warm up by a wood stove.
