The Challenging White Supremacy Working Group (CWS), Noticing Patterns of Oppression and Faithfulness working group, and Racial, Social and Economic Justice Committee (RSEJ) are co-sponsoring a day-long workshop for Friends who want to be able to facilitate conversations and workshops in their home meetings and communities around race, gender, and other forms of social justice.

We will be meeting at Hartford Meeting Saturday, February 8th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., concurrent with the NEYM Ministry and Counsel (M&C) meeting so it will be easy for Friends to share rides.

In the morning after worship with M&C, we will share and practice facilitation strategies for: engaging people who are entering the conversation from different places, managing challenging dynamics, and preventing and interrupting micro-aggressions. In the afternoon, we will break into smaller groups to practice using some of the workshop materials that CWS has developed and made available for all Friends to use as well as workshop materials that Noticing Patterns group has created. If you are new to this kind of facilitation, you are welcome; if you are seasoned in this kind of facilitation, you are welcome and we will add to your toolbox.

There is no cost for this workshop and Friends Junior High and older are encouraged to attend.
