8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.:  Gathering for coffee, tea, continental breakfast

9-9:45 – Discussion of excerpt from Isaac Penington’s “The Authority and Power Which Christ Excluded Out of His Church”.  We’ll be reading and discussing one paragraph from that essay. The reading from this session will be presented briefly in the afternoon program, but attendance at the early session is not necessary to understand the later session

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.:  Meeting for Worship

11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.:   11th Hour Program led by Debbie Humphries. Presentation and small group discussion on “Opening Our Hearts, Watching Our Minds,” particularly when engaging with those with whom we disagree. Debbie will give a short presentation, drawing on materials from early Quakers and other sources addressing the topic, followed by small group discussion and large group reflections.

12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.:  Lunch provided by Hartford Meeting Friends

1:30 p.m:  Connecticut Valley Quarterly Meeting for Business

  • Request from New England Yearly Meeting that each meeting reflect on our relationship to conflicts in the Middle East

  • Reports from monthly meetings about what has life in each meeting
