New England Yearly Meeting (NEYM) Annual Sessions 2011 is now meeting on the campus of Bryant University (Saturday, August 6 to Thursday, August 11, 2011). For directions to the campus click here.

4:15 pm — Reclaim Democracy ~ In order to abolish rights granted to corporations being treated as a person, we can move to amend the constitution.  There is growing groundswell to do this. (Unistructure 347)

4:15 pm — Speaking at Sessions: Preparing for & Grounding Our Vocal Ministry & Speaking to Aid Corporate Discernment ~ Friends will gather in waiting worship and be invited to respond to queries on how we prepare for and participate at Sessions. All are welcome!  (BC Nick’s Place)

4:15 pm — Prison Ministry/Prison Fellowship Gate West and Patricia Wild from Cambridge Friends Meeting speak on prison issues and possible engagement. (Unistructure M37)

4:15 pm — What Do You Know About Bolivian Quakers? Learn about Bolivian Quakers Education Fund. This information group will describe the 30,000 Quakers in Bolivia, focusing on Young Adult Friends and their career goals.  See slides! (Unistructure 353)

Join new and outgoing leaders for discussion of Friends’ needs from the magazine. We’ll announce our list of topics for 2012 and plans for change and innovation. (Unistructure 344)

4:15 pm — EL MURO, DVD ~ The untold story of the wall (El Muro) erected by Homeland Security from San Diego to Tiejuanna. Visually rich. The voices of many people on the Mexican and US side vividly describe their lives. (Unistructure 346)

4:15 pm — Friends Committee on National Legislation ~ Share with Diane Randall, new head of FCNL, and others about how we are all part of an active Friends’ lobby in Wash, DC. (Unistructure 345)

4:15 pm — Tools for local Meetings ~ Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. Facilitated by Steve Chase and Friends. (Unistructure 382)

4:15 pm — Energy Work with John Calvi ~ Learn a simple laying-on-of hands form for deep relaxation, better sleep, less worry and pain. Working in pairs, we will return to the early Quaker practice of healing. (MRC4)

9 pm — In Transition 1.0 ~ Steve Chase presents a 45-minute documentary on the Transition Movement, In Transition 1.0, followed by discussion. (Unistructure 382)

9 pm — International Travels Among Friends ~ Our family, the McManamys, took a sabbatical year and traveled among friends in Europe, Kenya, and Latin America.  Come hear our impressions and discussion of family sabbaticals. (Unistructure 354)

9 pm — Nuclear Power After Fukushima ~ Listen to an audio drama, “Voices from Chernobyl” and learn what’s ahead for the people of Japan—and possibly us, if nuclear power continues. (Unistructure M31)

9 pm — The Dance Between Hope and Fear ~ a Quaker healer reads from his journals.  Expect to laugh.  John Calvi has been working with rape and torture survivors, inmates and people with AIDS since 1982. (Unistructure 342)

9 pm — Mongolian: Living Sustainably as Nomads ~ A 17-year Quaker leading, listening, learning healthcare needs and creating a program for the nomadic herders. (Unistructure 343)
