A Special Welcome to Families with Young Children
The Family Neighborhood welcomes families with young children and other interested Friends!
Once again, we’ll try to create an instant neighborhood feeling in the Townhouses where the families with young children will most likely be staying. We’ll sprinkle in a few older Friends or grandparents to mix it up and add experience at enjoying Sessions, a good-natured perspective on parenting, and even some extra fun from time to time.
We’ll post house-by-house directories to let you know who is living where. Each morning between 6 and 7am, we’ll serve coffee and tea for the Early Birds and each afternoon you can stop by for lemonade and cookies. After supper, join us for an informal playtime adding a relaxed, mellow tone to the end of day and an opportunity to connect with other parents, grandparents, and caregivers. A crate of soft outdoor toys will be available for impromptu play and an overnight lending collection of children’s storybooks and Friendly adults’ books on parenting and Quaker themes will enrich the last moments of the day.
Sign up for The Family Neighborhood under housing choices in the registration materials. Please do invite families from your Meeting to come along with you. The more, the merrier!
