NEYM Childcare Epistle
This week at New England Yearly Meeting (NEYM) the children and staff in the childcare program spent the week sharing our gifts and joining with each other in playful fellowship. We enjoyed creating artwork with each other, including drawing and stories. Some of us also taught other Friends new songs. We loved our sensory experiences like play-dough and especially oobleck! We enjoyed playing in the water outside, running through the hose like it was a sprinkler. and dressing up in firefighter helmets and pretending to put out fires. We even got to put a slide in the pool and slide down it!
We also learned lots of things. Some things we learned were surprising. Did you know that Johanna’s name is spelled with a “J” even though it sounds like it shold be spelled with a “Y”? We learned yoga to help us be restful during nap time. We especially loved the part where we got to wag our butts in the air like puppies.
This week would not have been possible, or even nearly as much fun, without our special gifts. Thank you to Peter Blood and Annie Patterson for sharing your musical gifts with us. And thank you to all our excellent volunteers for your patience, kindness, gifts, and love. We hope to share more fun times in the future.
With love,
The children and staff of NEYM
