Our meeting house is much like a church. It is where we gather to worship each Sunday and is the hub of our wheel of social work.
This is a converted old school house that has two stories. The top floor (accessible to those in wheelchairs by the elevator) is the worship room. In it is a fireplace and benches. The fire is lit during the winter. The lower part of the meeting house has a dual purpose. It serves as the library (see library committee) and as the fellowship room (see fellowship or fellowship committee) where the attenders gather, have refreshments, and listen to announcements after meeting.
The middle section is the main entrance way to the meeting house. Every First Day morning one family (person) stands in that door to welcome the attenders and members in and answer questions like "Where's the bathroom?" and "What time does meeting start?" from newcomers. The phone is in this area (see Meeting contacts for details) so are the coat racks and a calender made by the First Day School.
The Merry West addition is where First Day School takes place. It has two rooms, one for the infants and preschoolers and one for Grades 2 - 11. It also includes the kitchen.
Off the fellowship room is the elevator that leads up to the worship room. To learn more about this go to the section on wheelchair access.
