2023 Sessions Recordings

Recordings from 2023 Annual Sessions are being posted as they become available.

Emma Condori Mamani, Friend from Santidad (Holiness) Friends Yearly Meeting in Bolivia, presented the 2023 Bible half hour, incorporating the languages of her faith: Spanish, Aymara, and English. Emma is a language teacher and Quaker author with a Master’s degree in Divinity from Earlham School of Religion. She has written and edited several books, has served on various Quaker organizations, and has traveled widely among Friends in many countries.

Our plenary presenters were Joseph Bruchac, enrolled citizen of the Nulhegan Abenaki Nation, and a storyteller, author, and poet; and his son, Jesse Bruchac, a leading teacher of the Abenaki language and a musician and filmmaker. Together they shared stories and songs.

The message from the presiding clerk of Cuba Yearly Meeting, Jorge Luis Peña Reyes, was recorded to be given at the  business meeting on August 8. Because of the press of time, we were unable to hear this address as scheduled. It is shared here now and reflects Jorge Luis' thoughts on the theme of Sessions 2023: "Be like a watered garden: Open to grace, loose the bonds of injustice" (Isaiah, 58:6-12)
